We're looking for experienced Subject Matter Experts to join the content development team. PPE Headquarters is on a mission to supply carefully crafted exam preparation without classrooms or excessive prices. Yearly, over 3,000 professionals from top employers trust our exam preparation materials.
As a member of the content team, you will play an essential role in designing, implementing, and improving the quality of our educational content and our content processes. Reporting to the Managing Editor, this role is key to our most important projects.

About You
- You are a subject expert, first and foremost. You have 2+ years developing content within the test preparation industry, or the publishing industry. You can show success executing content strategies and participating in content teams. In particular, you have direct experience developing exam testing items or solution manuals that are ready for publication.
- You're an excellent communicator, and have a strong command of written and spoken English. We are a 100% remote team, and writing is our primary means of communication. This role is responsible for creating educational content, but also for providing input on our processes and procedures.
- You see yourself as a team member. You identify opportunities to improve the way we work together, and value an inclusive environment. You're observant, an active listener, and are not afraid to ask questions to get at root causes. You are outcome-orientated and don't wait for someone to show you how. You have an intense desire to take ownership, and deliver exceptional results.
- You're great at time management. Your efforts and expertise will be highly valued within the company, and team members will therefore seek your resources. As part of a remote team, you'll be trusted to work with minimal supervision and be responsible for keeping focused on your deliverables.
- You have a Civil Engineering degree, preferably a good rank in GATE exam (AIR less than 2000), with teaching or tutoring experience. You regard yourself as a professional and practice with high ethical standards. You are knowledgeable about copyright infringement, and you know how to avoid infringement in your work. You have good knowledge of design codes and are good at analysis.
- You are comfortable and confident in a remote working setting. You have prior experience working remotely as a contractor, freelancer or within a startup. You'll have the freedom to work part-time, daytime hours as you see fit. Yet, you are flexible enough to make time for a call outside your normal working hours for the team.
Things You'll Do
We've just completed a thorough review of our exam banks and gathered learnings from our students. We have learned the root cause of struggle for these exams, and we have started achieving our target of doubling student pass rates. It’s time to apply these learnings to the next generation of products, so we can reach students and continue learning.
That’s where you come in, here are some things you'll do:
- Participate as a valuable member of a team of Subject Matter Experts, and Illustrators that includes employees, contractors, and occasionally vendors.
- Develop quality test items (test questions & thorough solutions) that you feel students can learn from while preparing for an exam.
- Assess the quality parameters (technical and editorial) of our testing items and our other educational content as part of a special team project.
- Help onboard new team members and seek to provide constructive feedback to your peers.
- Support cross-functional projects: Help Desk, Student Success, and User Research.
- We provide you with an extensive library of materials to work with, so there's no need to provide your own.
