Late Breaking News The Association of Science and Engineering Technology of Alberta (ASET) members will now be writing the National Professional Practice Exam (NPPE). This initiative is effective October 1, 2013, and ASET feels the standard is suitable for their members to be tested on. I would expect there will now be a rush to write the old CET exam as any applicants after October 1, 2013 will be subject to the NPPE. ASET Basic Timeline

ANSWER: No, if you've already met the requirements to meet your designation requirements then no further testing is required. QUESTION: Can an existing member take the NPPE test ? ANSWER: Yes, the NPPE for ASET members is available to any member who wishes to write the exam. QUESTION: Must existing members write the exam? ANSWER: Absolutely not, the NPPE is not required for existing members, if you have been tested on the subject ASET will not test you again.
