Common Questions
Please review the list of answers below for common questions:
- What is the NPPE? The NPPE is the National Professional Practice Exam. It is a closed book exam of 100 multiple choice questions to be completed within 2 hours. British Columbia and Saskatchewan have added answer essay questions to the NPPE and granted an additional hour for a total of 3 hours.
- How do I apply to write the NPPE? You simply apply to write the NPPE with your provinces provincial Association.
- How will I find out if I passed the exam? Unfortunately some Associations will not notify you if you have passed the examination and you will only be notified in 4-6 weeks if you have failed. Other Associations will notify you by mail in 6 weeks.
- What grade is required to pass the National Professional Practice Exam? A grade of 65% is required.
- What happens if I fail the NPPE? If you fail then you can apply to write the NPPE again. If you fail four times in a row (extremely rare!) you will not be able to write for a year. You better be sure you are going to pass that fourth time if it comes to that. Regardless, contact me and I will personally ensure you are armed with advice and the proper material.
